Example 4: 

Here, 
   Number of unknown =6
   Number of available equations = 3
                 ID = | number of unknown - number of equilibrium condition|
                      = 6-3 =3
                 So, the structure is Stable and Externally indeterminate to 3rd degree

Example 5: 


 
   Number of unknown =4
   Number of available equations = 3
   ID = | number of unknown - number of equilibrium condition|
        = 4-3 =1
   So, the structure is Stable and Externally indeterminate to 1st degree
 
Example 6: 
 
   Number of unknown =8
   Number of available equations = 3
   ID = | number of unknown - number of equilibrium condition|
        = 8-3 =5
   So, the structure is Stable and Externally indeterminate to 5th degree
